About the course

How to design a portfolio website using HTML and CSS. Learners will be familiar with the web markup language and the cascading stylesheet that makes the whole thing beautiful. The site will be hosted on GitHub Pages for people to be able to see.

The goal of this course is to provide learners with resources and the learning environment to customise their portfolio website using HTML and CSS. At the end of the course, the learner should be able to publish a functioning website to world wide web.

The project in this course is to build a portfolio website for yourself following the instruction and guidelines provided. You create a new logo, remove image background, and customise the HTML and CSS files.

The second phase of the project will require that you host your newly customised website on GitHub pages, add relevant meta tags to make sure the search engine understand how to render your newly built portfolio website.

Module 1:

Customise portfolio template

Our aim in this course is to build a portfolio website where people will be able to view our project history and a little biography about us. We will download our template, customise by recreating all the graphics, personalise all the information using HTML and CSS. Finally, we will upload our project on GitHub (a version control platform that allows us to store our code for future use).

Module 2:

Optimise our website for search engine

In this module, we will clean up our projects and push to GitHub pages (allows us to deploy our website so that people around the world can see).
